New York Rangers Acquire Star Forward Mason McTavish: NHL Insider Just Confirmed The Possibility

Over the last week reports have surfaced that suggest the New York Rangers were in deep conversation with the Anaheim Ducks regarding 22-year old RFA Mason McTavish, and that both sides are in fact discussion the idea of a trade.

The same reporter, Roger Hicks, has also stated that trade talks have amped up between the two teams and that deal could be in the works.

However, it was also reported that the Rangers are not the only team interested in acquiring the 22-year old forward, as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres and the Montreal Canadiens are also interested.

Unfortunately, new reports have surfaced from Jimmy Murphy with RG Media, that the three teams that are officially linked to McTavish doesn't include the New York Rangers.

The three teams are the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

McTavish, who is a former third overall pick in 2021 NHL Draft, has developed into a powerful two-way center, something the Rangers are desperately looking for. Just last season he posted 52 points (22 goals, 30 assists) in 79 games.

Only time will truly tell where Mason McTavish will be moved to, if he is ever moved from the Ducks.
