According to recent reports, President and General Manager Chris Drury is actively pursuing 22-year old star forward from the Anaheim Ducks as several reports confirm that trade talks are starting to materialize.
Over the last week reports have surfaced that suggest the New York Rangers were in deep conversation with the Anaheim Ducks regarding 22-year old RFA Mason McTavish, and that both sides are in fact discussion the idea of a trade.

Now, no major sources have confirmed this according to Roger Hicks the Rangers are serious about this, as one of his trusted sources confirmed some interesting news:
"According to a well-placed source, the Rangers have had internal discussions about presenting an offer sheet, or alternatively, exploring a sign-and-trade scenario with Anaheim"
McTavish, who is a former third overall pick in 2021 NHL Draft, has developed into a powerful two-way center, something the Rangers are desperately looking for. Just last season he posted 52 points (22 goals, 30 assists) in 79 games, so adding him to the Rangers would be massive.
