Massive Three-Player Trade Has Just Surfaced Regarding New York Rangers 1st-Overall Draft Pick
The New York Rangers have had a busy offseason thus far, as President and General Manager Chris Drury has made several changes to the teams roster in hopes to bring them back to their President's Trophy winning form.
Here's what the three-player trade proposal looks like:
The proposed deal would certainly be a blockbuster and the New York Rangers would acquire
Shane Pinto, an experienced NHL player, along with two-third round picks for Alexis Lafreniere.
Rangers acquire:
Shane Pinto
Nick Jensen2026 third-round pick
2026 third-round pick (Florida)
Senators acquire:
Alexis Lafreniere
Adding Pinto to the New York Rangers lineup would replace the void left by Lafreniere, and with Pinto entering his final year of his two-year $7.5 Million deal and will become a RFA when his deal expires. Just last season with the Sens, he recorded 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points in 70 games.
Then the Rangers would also acquire a right-shot defenseman in Jensen. A defenseman known for his shutdown abilities, something the New York Rangers certainly need. Just last season, Jensen recorded 3 goals and 18 assists for 21 points in 71 games.
Following Lafreniere's struggles last season, it's clear that the New York Rangers are pondering the idea of moving him. However, it will certainly take something more appealing then Shane Pinto and two third-round picks to make a deal happen.
