Major turn of events surfaces regarding the New York Rangers organization firing head coach Peter Laviolette following his latest controversial statement during Monday nights press.

Following a brutal 5-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night, the New York Rangers currently sit eight-points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
However, following the game Peter Laviolette openly admitted to not addressing the team following their poor efforts, in a very shocking statement.
Following the game Laviolette was asked about his message for the team. Shockingly, Laviolette admitted that he didn't address his team post-game and that, in fact, he didn't even enter the team's dressing room.
Does Laviolette have a message for the team at this stage?

"I don't have a message right now. I don't go into the locker room after the game."
Unsurprisingly, many fans are calling for this to be the last season for Peter Laviolette, as a few have compared this situation with former head coach John Tortorella's incident with the Philadelphia Flyers.

However, many fans believe that this is not Peter Laviolette's fault, and that Chris Drury is the one who should be held accountable for the team's failure this season.
Which may be the case, considering Peter Laviolette did a fantastic job at coaching the team to becoming last season's President Trophy Winners.
With that being said, many believe it should be GM Chris Drury on the move at the end of the season, instead of firing another head coach.
Chris Drury has got to be held accountable this offseason, no? No way he gets another head coach to blame and fire. #NYR
