Laviolette Addresses Teams Playing Back-To-Back And Penalty Kill
Head coach Peter Laviolette addressed the media today ahead of the Rangers match-up against the Bruins.
Both teams are on a second game of back-to-back. Peter Laviolette had this to say on the matter.
"I wish that there was more of this. Where we're playing a team that did the exact same thing as us. So, there's no excuses today. Not that there ever is. I do like it when everything is equal on the table. They did exactly what we did at the same time. Well, it's just two teams playing a hockey game today, so we got to respond."
It's true, it wouldn't have been an excuse, but it does level the playing field if both teams played back-to-back rather than one of them.
Peter Laviolette also addressed what the Rangers need to do offensively as the Bruins are the next best defensive team behind the Rangers.
"I think we have to push offensively, but not at some price of risk."
Risk is something the Rangers have been prone to taking quite a bit against the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins the last two games.
In their trip to Pennsylvania, the Rangers were put on the PK 11 times in a 2 game span. They successfully killed all 11.
Let's hope the Rangers clean up that part of their game.
