J.T. Miller to face serious disciplinary actions from the NHL for tampering with Rangers latest trade

With Jacob Trouba and Ryan Lindgren being traded, the Rangers' blue line was missing a gritty defenseman. However, GM Chris Drury tapped back into the Canucks for another solid addition to the blue line and traded for Carson Soucy.

The New York Rangers only had to give up a third-round pick according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman.

Soucy will give the left-side of the Rangers defense some needed muscle missing. In 59 games this season he's scored only 10 points (3 G, 7 A).

Even better, he waived his no-trade clause to play on Broadway, a sure sign that he's already bought into the uniform. Next year the NTC will be reduced to 12 NHL teams, something GM Chris Drury considered before finalizing the deal here of course.

According to a Canucks insider, Rick Dhaliwal, Rangers newly acquired forward J.T. Miller reached out to Soucy and made «the big apple pitch to him.» Definitely something the league will look at as tampering.

With the NHL trade deadline in full effect today it's unlikely that the Rangers will hear from the league about this situation, but it's only a matter of time.
