Rangers Play Their First Home Game In Two Weeks!
It's game day everyone!
The New York Rangers are back at home for the first time in what seemed like forever.
Last time they played at Madison Square Garden was October 19, a 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.
That was the last time they had lost a game, and are currently riding a five game win streak, winning every game on the road!
What will definitely get our heart pumping is hearing the National Anthem from the great, John Brancy. No one sings the Anthem in the NHL better than he does.
What makes this game all the more exciting will be the battle of epic proportions between two divisional foes.
The Carolina Hurricanes are the defending three time Metropolitan Division champs, and are looking to win their fourth straight division title again this season.
Peter Laviolette had this to say about playing against the Hurricanes:
"Every game is so important, but then I think there are games inside of your division that happen to have extra weight to it. They've won the division for the last 3 years. This is a game you look at & say, This is a team we've got to beat"
He is right, every game on the schedule is important, but divisional games definitely do hold more weight.
Divisional opponents face off against each other more than any other, so there will always be more animosity between these teams.
The Rangers can definitely make a statement to the league tonight with a win. Let's hope they have their best game ahead of them!
