Ex-Rangers Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev's Time In The NHL Is Officially Over: Per Elliotte Friedman

On Tuesday afternoon, former New York Rangers goaltenders career in the National Hockey League took a massive turn after he had just secured a contract with the Buffalo Sabres .
On the same day as the NHL's opening-night, several reports surfaced that stated that the Sabres were placing Georgiev on waivers as they were interested in another goalie, Colton Ellis, for a while now.
Something Kevyn Adams clearly wasn't joking around as he quickly claimed Colton Ellis off waivers from the St. Louis Blues on October 6th, and placed Georgiev on waivers the next day.
Elliotte Friedman Confirms Alexander Georgiev Has Cleared Waivers
Now that it is the next day, October 8th, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that Georgiev's starting days in the NHL are over as no teams have claimed the 29-year old goaltender, resulting in him clearing and being sent down to the AHL.

Unfortunately, his career in the NHL has since started to take a rough turn as just last season he posted a posted a 15-26-4 record, .875 save percentage, and a 3.71 goals-against average in 49 games split between the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks.
Resulting in Georgiev to be assigned to the Buffalo Sabres' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate team, the Rochester Americans.
