Unfortunately not long after, the Rangers took to social media to confirm the devastating news that Trocheck had in fact sustained a upper-body injury and was sidelined for the remainder of the game.
UPDATE: Vincent Trocheck (upper body) will not return tonight.
Certainly some very unfortunate news for the New York Rangers as they can't seem to stay healthy early in the 2025-26 season.
Mike Sullivan Provides Concerning Update On Vincent Trocheck
Following the game head coach Mike Sullivan was faced with the media and of course he was asked about Trocheck, and what he had to say was a bit concerning.
Sullivan stated that he doesn't have much of an update on Trocheck as he is being evaluated for a upper-body injury and will be considered day-to-day.
Mike Sullivan didn't have any news on Vincent Trocheck after the game.
"No, he's being evaluated for an upper body injury right now,'' Sullivan said. "I don't have anything else.''
Definitely not the update we were hoping for, as best case scenario Sullivan would have just said he was pulled from the game for precautionary reasons, such as stiffness or something.
However, the Rangers were able to pull off a 4-0 victory tonight after taking a embarrassing 3-0 loss on opening-night.
