Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin explained in detail today why JT Miller may have accepted a trade out of Vancouver to New York. It seems like his motivation alone wasn't purely based on issues with Elias Pettersson.

GM Patrik Allvin described in detail during a press conference, that he wanted to leave the Canucks, as they no longer fit into his future plans.
While Allvin confirmed that Pettersson and Miller were indeed feuding, it was addressed by the coaching staff.
Instead of us focusing purely on the feud alone, it seemed Allvin alluded to the fact that Miller wanted to go cup hunting.
A real good reason for him to return to the New York Rangers after a Canucks team he was a part of was unable to play up to his own expectations as Stanley Cup contenders.
While ideally Miller didn't want to leave the Canucks organization, it was a decision he made for himself, and his family. He didn't end up leaving the organization harboring ill will towards Allvin and the team.
In the end, the feud was a result of a clash in leadership styles between him and Pettersson.
The feud severely impacted the team's chemistry, which led to a resounding failure for the team this season to replace their Cinderella run in the playoffs in 2023-2024.
Now, as a Ranger, he'll have a shot at a Stanley Cup if Mike Sullivan can help turn the organization into what they're supposed to be: winners!
This season he's scored a total of 70 points (22 goals, 48 asissts) split between the Rangers and Canucks.
