Thanks to Gary Bettman and today's GM meetings, we have an idea of when we'll see the New York Rangers take the ice at Madison Square Garden. The NHL held a press conference today after three days of meetings with all 32 NHL GMs.

The NHL season hasn't wrapped up yet, but we're to a point where the league has begun to plan for the future.
Unfortunately it won't be a future without Gary Bettman just yet, but we can cross our fingers.
The NHL held its GM meetings for three consecutive days, and Commissioner Gary Bettman would hold a short, twenty-minute press conference with the media to address the topics discussed.
One of the topics they covered detailed the start of the 2025-2026 NHL season, which is set to begin on October 7th, 2025.
While we now know when the puck will drop, we haven't the faintest clue of what games will kick off the season.
All the NHL has disclosed is two dates in November:
The NHL has previously disclosed a couple of dates on the upcoming calendar.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators will travel to Stockholm, Sweden for games on Nov. 14 and 16.

The Winter Classic will be on Jan. 2, 2026 and see the Florida Panthers host the New York Rangers at LoanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. That will be followed by a Stadium Series game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Feb. 1.

Of course, international games take a bit longer to plan and it would make sense as the league is attempting to grow the sport of hockey these would be announced first.
But, plan for October 7th, and prepare to see your New York Rangers on Madison Square Garden ice in 2025.
With hope, they'll look like a better team once we see what GM Drury does at the draft and during free agency.
No other major announcements that could affect the Rangers' future have been reported yet.
