New York Rangers And Red Wings Combine For A Four Player Trade 70-Years Ago Today

On August 18, 1955, the New York Rangers traded two players, Billy Dea and Adolph "Aggie" Kukulowicz, to the Detroit Red Wings for Dave Creighton and Bronco Horvath.
The New York Rangers ended up trading left winger, Billy Dae, to the Detroit Red Wings after only playing 14 games throughout the 1953-54 season where he only managed to tally one goal and one assist.
Dae, managed to have himself quite a career during his seven season in the NHL, as he played nearly 400 games split between the Rangers, Red Wings, Blackhawks, and Penguins.
The other player the Rangers traded was Adolph "Aggie" Kukulowicz, a forward who only made four appearances in the NHL with the Rangers during his NHL career, where he tallied one goal and one assist. Kukulowicz never played in the NHL again as he went on to play several years in the minors.
However, on the other hand, the New York Rangers acquired two players who had pretty successful careers in the NHL. One player being Dave Creighton, who played a total of 615 NHL games, tallying 140 goals and 174 assists split between three season with the Rangers, Bruins, Maple Leafs, Blackhawks, and Red Wings.
Finally the last player being Bronco Horvath, another center, was still establishing himself in the mid-1950s. But didn't have his most productive days in the NHL until he joined the Boston Bruins.
Across 434 NHL games, he tallied 326 points and later earned a place in the AHL Hall of Fame.
