Former New York Rangers veteran sadly retires after 600-NHL games due to unfortunate reasons

Former New York Rangers forward and first-round draft pick has officially announced his retirement after playing nearly 600 games with several teams in the National Hockey League.

Former NHL forward Riley Nash was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the first-round during the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. However, his time in the NHL has came to the end as he announced his retirement after playing in nearly 600 career NHL games.
Wolf Pack forward Riley Nash has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Nash recorded 27 points (11 G, 16 A) with Hartford during the 2023-24 season, his final one.

Nash was originally taken by the Edmonton Oilers with the 21st overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, but never played for them as he opted instead to play at Cornell University.
Following that, Nash was than traded in 2010 to the Carolina Hurricanes where he spent a large majority of his career, split between the Hurricanes and their American Hockey League affiliate the Charlotte Checkers, but then became a regular in the Hurricanes lineup by the start of 2013-14.
Nash then spent time with the Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Winnipeg Jets, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs and Arizona Coyotes, before he signed a 2-way deal with the New York Rangers in 2023 as a free agent, and spent the majority of the year with the AHL affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack.
Where he played 41 games, and managed to finish the season with 11 goals and 27 points, but unfortunately needed to sit out for the 2024-25 season due to a knee-injury that he sustained from the season prior.
