New York Rangers top prospect opens up on making his fifth appearance at the organizations rookie camp, that began on Wednesday.

Just moments ago, Brennan Othmann opened up on how he was feeling about attending his fifth rookie camp with the New York Rangers after he was drafted by the organization back in the first round, 16th overall, of the 2021 NHL entry draft.
Following the New York Rangers first day of rookie camp, Othmman spoke with reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano, and stated how he was feeling along with explaining why he's here for his 5th rookie camp.
Brennan Othmann, as usual, was very articulate in explaining why he's here for his 5th rookie camp. Said the org asked him about coming and he was on board. He specifically mentioned the two rookie games this weekend, saying, "For me, they're pretty meaningful. I mean, we've got a new coaching staff... I want to get out there and put my best foot forward."

He knows he's in a competition for a spot and wants to give himself every advantage. #NYR

Brennan Othmann Explains He's Still Confident Five-Years Later

As stated before, Othmann was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first-round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. However, since then he has managed to appear in a total of 25 games since the 2023-24 season, and has only tallied two assists.
Something that still makes him a rookie considering the NHL's Hockey Operations Guidelines, as a player "must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons."
However, during another interview with Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Othmann stated that he's still confident despite not scoring any goals last season.
«No, no I did. I feel like I belong. I still think I belong. Not scoring a goal is tough, and a lot of people know that. I wasn't questioning my abilities or my game or anything like that It just wasn't going in. It's not like I was playing bad hockey. Sometimes it happens, and that takes a toll on your mind.»
Personalty i believe this will be the year that Brennan Othmann finally makes his way onto the New York Rangers roster for opening night against the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 7th.
