Matt Rempe Out "Longer Term" Following Crushing Update From Mike Sullivan And The New York Rangers

Back on Thursday night, Matt Rempe was involved in a very heated altercation with San Jose Sharks enforcer Ryan Reaves and was forced to exit the game early after sustaining an upper-body injury.

Most recently the Rangers providing an update on the 23-year old forward ahead of their four-game Pacific Division road trip, where they stated he would be sidelined due to an upper-body injury but wasn't ruled out on making a return to the team before the road trip ended.

However, things have just taken a very unexpected turn as it appears Rempe will be out long-term.

Just moments before the Rangers upcoming game against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night, Mike Sullivan confirmed to the press that Matt Rempe would in fact be out "longer term".

Certainly some devastating news for the young enforcer, as it's clear that he has sustained a serious injury from his altercation with Ryan Reaves. Unfortunately we still have no idea what's wrong besides a possible finger, according to "reports" from his sister.

Whatever it is, it's clearly not good given the fact it's keeping him sidelined for a longer period of time.
