Peter Laviolette issues surprising statement regarding game 2 lineups
The Florida Panthers ended up decimating the New York Rangers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals 3-0.
This should cause concern for Head Coach Peter Laviolette, shouldn't it?
According to Coach Laviolette, he is always evaluating his lineup but when asked about his philosophy regarding building a lineup prior to a Game he seemed confident.
He felt that the Rangers had a good amount of scoring chances, totaling 6 or 7 according to his own words.
Which in the playoffs, isn't promising if you only get that many good looks at the net.
All the while, playing against Florida means he should make the right adjustments, whether by play or through shifting players up and down the lineup.
The answer sounds like Laviolette isn't disturbed by how stifling the Panthers were, but he sounds fine with the status quo of losing 3-0.
This is troubling when your top stars like Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad, and Adam Fox are unable to convert against the opposition.
Tonight the Panthers and New York Rangers will face off in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and Laviolette needs to sound less like Sheldon Keefe.
