The hockey world is left mourning after reports confirm the heartbreaking loss of ECHL legend and Hall of Famer, Cam Brown, who once wore the Vancouver Canucks jersey throughout his long professional career.

NHL Alumni Association Confirms Cam Brown passes Away at 56-Years Old

Following the devastating news of Brown's passing, the NHL Alumni Association issued a heartfelt statement remembering Brown's career.
"The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn that Cam Brown has passed away at the age of 56.

From Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Cam played major junior hockey with the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings, netting 34 goals during his final junior season in 1989-90. After his final season in junior, Cam began his professional hockey career in the International Hockey League (IHL) with the Milwaukee Admirals.

On March 3, 1991, Cam had made it to the NHL, suiting up for the Vancouver Canucks as they took on the Chicago Blackhawks at the old Chicago Stadium. Cam's career later took him to the ECHL, where he played the majority of the next 10 seasons, retiring at the conclusion of the 2001-02 campaign.

However, Cam returned to professional hockey for the 2003-04 season, playing with the newly relocated Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. Cam became a fan favourite during his three seasons with the Gladiators, and the club later honoured him by retiring his number 44. His 789 career games in the ECHL place him fourth on the all-time games played list.

Those who were lucky enough to know Cam remember him as a wonderful mentor, friend, and ambassador to the game of hockey.

We send our deepest condolences to Cam's family, friends, and former teammates during this incredibly difficult time."
On behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider, we'd like to send our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Cam Brown, as they navigate through this difficult time.
May you Rest In Peace, Cam Brown.
