New York Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey was forced to leave Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Panthers forward
Ryan Lomberg laid a brutal on Jimmy Vesey at 11:48 of the second period leaving him heading to the dressing room at the stoppage at 12:15.
However, it was later confirmed that Jimmy Vesey would not return for the remainder of game 2 due to an upper-body injury.
Unfortunately the bad news doesn't stop there, today head coach Peter Laviolette released an update on Vesey's condition.
Laviolette confirmed he'll be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury, and will not be with the team as they head to Florida for game 3 and 4.
#NYR coach Peter Laviolette says Jimmy Vesey is week to week with an upper-body injury. No. 26 did make the trip.
No indication of who will come in for Vesey. Wheeler is cleared to play, as we knew.
Truly a devastating update for the Rangers, as they face the Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena for game 3 Sunday at 3:00pm.
