The New York Rangers won the Presidents Trophy in 2023-2024, and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. They were a very good team, but not everyone is always capable of replicating their past performances.

There are three Rangers who could end up regressing this season, as their play could be stunted due to various factors.
At age 38, Jonathan Quick put on a performance in 2023-2024 that surprised many pundits and fans. He is in the latter part of his NHL career, and it's debatable whether or not he could put up a .911 save percentage again, even with the Rangers team in front of him.
The last time he had a save percentage that high was in 2017-2018, he should see 20 starts, but its doubtful if he'll be able to replicate 18-6-2 again.
Artemi Panarin was arguably the team's MVP, scoring 120 points, and was a candidate for the Hart Trophy in 2023-2024. He surpassed his career highs in goals by 17, and total points by 24. Scoring 49 points this past season, was his fourth season scoring 30-plus goals and the first time he hit 100+ points.
He set career highs at 32 years old, which is tough to do and may be difficult to replicate in 2024-2025.
Since turning 30 years old, Kreider has been playing some of the best hockey of his life. But unfortunately, we will likely see a regression soon, as the best two years of his career were in 2021-2022 with 52 goals and 77 points, and last season with 39 goals and 75 points. He's only recorded 55+ points twice in his career, so it seems unlikely at a year older he'll score 40 goals, and post 70+ points again.
