New York Rangers veteran to sign new contract with Atlantic Division team
New York Rangers veteran forward being targeted by Atlantic Division team.
Throughout the upcoming weeks, organizations will be exploring the remaining free agents as they work on finalizing their rosters for the 2024-24 season.
Some of these players that are still free agents just might be offered a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
According to Shawn Hutcheon of The Fourth Period, the Boston Bruins are considering to offer Rangers forward, Blake Wheeler a PTO contract.
The 37-year old veteran is already familiar with the Bruins organization as he signed with them back in 2008 on July 1st, and spent the first three seasons of his career as a Bruins before being traded to the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010.
This past season, Wheeler joined the New York Rangers after having his contract bought out by the Winnipeg Jets. Wheeler playing 54 games with the Rangers and managed to tally 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists).
