The New York Rangers have just taken another massive hit on the latest ranking lists after facing a ton of harsh rankings over the last few months, especially the ones surrounding defenseman Adam Fox.
According to The Athletic's latest pipeline ranking, the New York Rangers have been ranked as the 24th-best prospect pool. Taking another massive hit as they were ranked as the 15th best team just last year.
New York Rangers Have A Ton Of Promising Talent In Their Prospect Pool
Despite the New York Rangers dropping in ranks, they have a ton of prospect that show a ton of promise. One in particular being Noah Laba, as he is a 6'3 center with insane speed and puck skills.
Here's what Pronman thinks of Laba's development:
"Laba has developed very well in his three years at school, turning into a legit NHL prospect. He's a tall center with NHL speed and puck skills. When Laba is bringing the puck in transition, he's quite dangerous and has the hands to beat pro defenders one-on-one with pace. He gives a solid effort, being a reliable two-way center who can kill penalties, wins battles and gets to the net to create offense. Laba isn't the most natural playmaker and can force a lot of plays. He projects as a middle-six forward with a chance to be a third-line center if he stays down the middle.
The New York Rangers' opening-night roster just might consist of a number of these young players, including Othmann, Perreault, Morrow, and Brett Berard, and just maybe they will all be able to prove these rankings wrong.
On The Bright Side The New York Rangers Aren't Ranked The Worst
If we look on the bright-side of things the New York Rangers weren't ranked last, as the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche were all ranked below the New York Rangers.
