Team Canada's star player warns Vincent Trocheck and Team USA ahead of highly anticipated rematch
Team USA may have won the battle, but to Nathan MacKinnon, the war on the ice hasn't concluded. Team USA deftly beat the Canadians in their first match, 3-1 during the tail end of the Round-Robin on Saturday in Montreal. Now, MacKinnon feels confident they can beat them.
Canada has found their way into the Four Nations Face-Off Championship as they will take on Team USA in a rematch.
The first battle was nothing but fire on the ice, as the game started with three brawls at the drop of the puck, as we saw the Tkachuks pair off with
Sam Bennett and
Brandon Hagel.
While Ranger JT Miller and
Colton Parayko would drop the gloves in front of Canada's net for a nice tilt.
After Canada's sound 5-3 defeat of Finland, Nathan MacKinnon sounds confident that he and the rest of his squad, including a healthy
Cale Makar can defeat Team USA.
The first battle between the two broke record viewership that totaled 5 million households across Canada, and the USA.
This will be the first time we get to see Makar suit up in the Maple Leaf-adorned jersey, as he and
MacKinnon take on Vinnie Trocheck, and JT Miller in what should be the most exciting match of the season.
Keep in mind, that we're not even to the NHL playoffs, but these games have a playoff atmosphere about them.
From the Tkachuk brothers to
Connor Hellebuyck's elite goaltending, we'll be in for a treat.
Team USA currently has 6 points and two wins, and will take on Nathan MacKinnon and Canada who has registered 5 points in the final.
Stay tuned on Thursday at 8 PM to see who wins the first Four Nations Face-Off!
