Rangers podcaster Johnny Lazarus clears up Patrick Kane statement
There's a strong possibility that the New York Rangers will be facing off against the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the playoffs as the Red Wings have turned their season around as of late and have put themselves in the second wild card spot which puts them directly in the crosshairs of the Rangers.
Rangers podcaster Johnny Lazarus went on his show morning Cuppa Hockey to clear up a statement he made about revenge from Patrick Kane to the Rangers organization.
When Patrick Kane set foot on the ice of MSG last year for had their playoff run, many fans gave him a rough time stating he is washed up and no longer able to play the game.
This amplified after the Rangers lost in the first round to which Kane decided not to re-sign with the team.
It was revealed that he had major surgery during the summer to fix his hip to which he returned to the NHL in December and has never looked better since.
If this matchup occurs, it's likely there would be an extra spice to this series since Ranger fans spoke about Kane that poorly.
Since the three-time Stanley Cup champ has returned, he has played 45 games, scored 19 goals in 24 assists for 43 points.
He has not appeared out of place, and it seems the surgery is holding up well allowing him to play at this high level.
It will be fascinating to see how this series plays out if this matchup is meant to happen.
