Whether it's even strength or special teams, the Rangers have clearly been the better team through the first two games of this first-round playoff series against the Capitals, winning 4-3 tonight!
K'Andre Miller became the fourth blueliner in 20 years to score a shorthanded goal in the playoffs and have it stand as the game winner, joining Brendan Smith (Game 2 of 2022 R2), Matt Greene (Game 1 of 2012 CSF) and Nicklas Lidstrom (Game 6 of 2008 CQF).Head coach Peter Laviolette addresses the media, giving major praise to Miller and his play during the playoffs:
"He's the type of player that can bring everything. He can bring the physicality. He can bring the good defense. He can jump into a hole and find the right offense as well, at the right time."
The Rangers travel to Washington D.C. for Game 3, looking for a 3-0 series lead.
