According to recent reports, New York Rangers longest tenured player is apparently on his way out after 13-seasons with the organization.

The New York Rangers season has been filled with disappointment and frustration, one of those frustrations being veteran forward Chris Kreider, who was once a very consistent player.
33-year old winger has seen a sharp decline in production, managing just 21 goals and five assists for 25 points through 64 games this season, something that has created a lot of trade speculation.
However, Kreider lower-back issues that have sidelined him several times this year, along with his fading presence on the ice, has made almost impossible to move his $6.5 million cap hit.
Earlier this year, General Manager Chris Drury issued a memo in November that stated all veteran players will be considered trade candidates, which includes Kreider.
Something that might have affected Kreider's game, considering since then he has looked detached from the organization. Leaving many questioning his future with the Rangers.
Columnist Larry Brooks remarks on the situation just might sum it up: «The marriage has reached its end. Alienation of affection, perhaps? We all know they are already sleeping in separate bedrooms.»
Though Kreider was once viewed as a Ranger for life, his diminished role and the organizations need to create cap space to re-sign young pieces like K'Andre Miller and Will Cuylle have made a summer trade all but inevitable.
As Kreider only have two year left on his deal and a full trade protection, Drury must look to move him now while there's still a market.
Kreider's exit would close the chapter on one of the franchise's longest tenured players, which includes 323 goals (third in team history) and a Rangers-record 48 playoff goals.
