The New York Rangers have recently confirmed some very terrible news regarding forward Vincent Trocheck who had sustained a upper-body injury early in the 2025-26 season.
Back on Thursday October 9th, the New York Rangers faced off against the Buffalo Sabres and during about halfway through the game, veteran forward Vincent Trocheck was forced to leave early after sustaining an injury.
Not long after head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed that Trocheck would in fact be considered week-to-week after being evaluated by the teams medical staff.

However, not long after the Rangers made that announcement, they then confirmed the worst possible update on the 32-year old forward.
On Wednesday October 15th, the Rangers confirmed that Trocheck has been placed on Long Term Injured Reserve (LTIR), meaning he will have to miss an extended period of time, at least 10 NHL Games or 24 days of the NHL season.
#NYR are placing Vincent Trocheck on LTIR.
