New York Rangers top trade candidate this offseason has officially been dealt in a shocking three-player deal. According to several reports the New York Rangers and GM Chris Drury have been trying to acquire John-Jason Peterka since before the NHL trade deadline.

The New York Rangers were thought to be one of the teams interested in acquiring Peterka through trade or an offer sheet. But according to reports on "X" it's unclear whether the team was truly interested in the 68-point forward or not. As reports claim the reports were false.
Unfortunately, this was true as J.J. Peterka was dealt in a late night trade on Wednesday from the Buffalo Sabres to the Utah Mammoth in a very unexpected three-player trade.
TFP believes that GM Kevyn Adams wouldn't be interested in acquiring futures for J.J. Peterka, which indicated it'd be an NHL trade most likely for him.
Adams is not interested in moving Peterka or Byram for future assets, and any moves he completes involving any of his key pieces will result in immediate help and NHL talent coming to Buffalo.

Something the Buffalo Sabres received in return as they got Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan.
We have acquired JJ Peterka from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan.

Peterka has been signed to a 5-year deal.
Peterka extension with Utah: 5 years x $7.7 million = $38.5 million.
