The New York Rangers and Head Coach Peter Laviolette must be grinning from ear to ear after last night's performance against the Vancouver Canucks. Rookie Brennan Othmann showed us what he was made of with his first NHL point in a game that had a meaningful impact on the team's future.

Last night's victory against the Vancouver Canucks showed us that the New York Rangers won't quit.
The phrase "No Quit in NY" might have expired after last season, but for rookie Brennan Othmann it is a reality. A rookie's time in the NHL comes with a shorter-leash considering coaches like Peter Laviolette tend to favor veteran stars in the lineup.
But with the current shake-up the Rangers roster is experiencing it gave Othmann a chance to shine.
He did so last night against the Vancouver Canucks, as he tallied his point in the NHL. As he had an assist against the Canucks.
He'd be on the ice for 13 shifts and played a total of 8:17 TOI, an efficient use of his time with a +1 after his hard work.
His first point would be scored on Adam Fox's first goal of the night, an assist at 11:03 into the second period.
So while he hasn't scored his first NHL goal yet, it looks like it may be coming soon for Othmann.
With Adam Edstrom being out of the lineup, Othmann has found himself in a depth role for the Rangers serving on the fourth line.
He's scored 1 point (1 assist), 8 shots on goal, 4 blocks, and 8:77 TOI.
