Recent reports indicate that the New York Rangers are emerging as frontrunners to acquire 28-year old winger during free agency this offseason.

Reports have surfaced that reveal the New York Rangers are now frontrunners to acquire Vancouver Canucks winger, Brock Boeser, this offseason during free agency as it looks like he won't return to the Canucks.
Boeser, whose $6.6 million AAV contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, recently told reporters, «Honestly, it's unlikely at this point,» when asked about staying in Vancouver.
The Vancouver Canucks decided to hold onto Brock Boeser through the NHL Trade Deadline, but now that they have failed to make the playoffs, they will be left empty-handed as it appears he's ready to walk for nothing in July and test the free agency market.

Recent reports have confirmed that the New York Rangers are expected to make some drastic changes this offseason, to help clear up some cap space. Especially if they decide to part ways with veteran forward Chris Kreider.
Leaving them with plenty of cap space to counter offer with Brock Boeser's asking price, that could be in the range of $8M annually.
Boeser would bring a much-needed scoring aspect to the Rangers, as several stars underperformed this season, and a reunion with former teammate J.T. Miller, in New York, could just be what seals the deals.
Just this past season, Boeser has tallied 25 goals and 49 points throughout 72 games, following a career-high 40 goals the season before.
General manager Chris Drury reveals that he plans to be aggressive this offseason, and Boeser represents one of the few top-six forwards in his prime set to hit the market, making him the perfect fit for the New York Rangers.
However, it wont be easy as Vancouver reportedly offered him a five-year, $40 million extension earlier this season, but Boeser turned it down.
