The New York Rangers are 6th in the Metropolitan Division and want to improve their standings. That'll mean earning another two points with a regulation victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets, can they do it?
The New York Rangers keep fighting, but no matter how hard they try they continue to lag behind the Blue Jackets.
At the moment the team is four points behind the Blue Jackets, with 56, and will have to battle to the end in order to win a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
They'll have to find a way to bounce back from last night's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and draw fresh blood from the Jackets.
If the Rangers are to inch closer to the second Wild Card spot in the west, a regulation victory would bring them three points closer to the Detroit Red Wings.
While giving them a chance of hopping the Blue Jackets in the Metropolitan Division.
Drawing into the lineup on the first line, is
JT Miller who has been on fire for the Rangers since he's arrived.
He's scored 5 points in the last five games for the Rangers (2 G, 3 A) and they will need his help to push past the Blue Jackets tonight.
Veteran Jonathan Quick will be in the net against
Kent Johnson, Dmitri Voronkov,
Adam Fantilli, and the loaded Blue Jackets lineup.
The Rangers will have to figure out how to shutdown the multiple weapons the team has it's arsenal to come out on top.
