The Nashville Predators and the New York Rangers have not had the season they had hoped and it appears that Predators forward Gustav Nyquist may be linked to the Rangers as the March trade deadline approaches.
Many NHL pundits feel that the Rangers are not done remaking their team as general manager Chris Drury is determined to remodel his team during the season while trying to climb back into a playoff spot.
Nyquist needs a change of Scenery as season has gone downhill
The 35-year-old center has had a lackluster year as through 53 games played, he's only scored nine goals, with 11 assists for 20 points and as a dreadful -19. This is a far cry from what he did last year with the Predators where he played 81 games and had 75 points which included 52 assists.
Gustav Nyquist has a ROCKET of a backhander
Nyquist, along with several other Predators players have not been able to find their game as many felt the team could be in contention for a Stanley Cup with the changes they made last summer.
Nyquist will be participating in the 4 Nations faceoff and will be on display for Drury to watch and learn.
Drury has been active during the season
The Rangers have been quite active in trying to reshape their roster during the season as they had traded away their captain in
Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks, Kappo Kakko was moved to the Seattle Kraken and
Filip Chytil was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for JT Miller.

It's safe to say that he is trying to improve the team now as they try to work themselves back into a playoff spot but more importantly looking towards the future an next season where they will try to reset themselves and try to go the distance again.
It's likely that Nyquist would be a low-cost option Drury as he holds a $3.185 million cap hit and is on his final year of his deal. There's a strong possibility that the predators would be willing to retain some of his salary and make the trade more plausible.
The NHL is currently in its two weeks break as the Four Nations face off is set to begin on February 12th and will give Rangers management plenty of time to look over and evaluate their talent and their plans for the March trade deadline.
