Peter Laviolette's recent promotion on Rangers star has seriously paid off for the organization
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette's recent promotion with star forward has really paid off for the organization.
New York Rangers
Will Cuylle's two-goal performance in the Rangers' 4-3 over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night was really impressive.
At the beginning of the season, Cuylle was played on a line alongside
Filip Chytil and
Kaapo Kakko where he thrived offensively. As last season Cuylle only scored 13 goals, but has now transformed into one of the biggest offensive threats for the Rangers.
The 23-year-old's 6'3'' frame on top of his impressive speed and powerful shot was on full display to start the season. As we all quickly saw he's confidence grow.
Unfortunately there was a point this season when Will Cuylle didn't score a goal over the span of 15 games, which created a lot of concern for fans.
Finally after a few weeks of inconsistent offensive play, head coach Peter Laviolette decided to promote Cuylle to the second line with Alexis Lafrenière and
Vincent Trocheck.
A move that has truly changed his game, as he is now managing to score more goals and generate high-quality scoring chances.
«I think it's really good. He's stepping up like that inside of a game that we need to win after a game like [Friday night against the Penguins], I thought it was real important.»
Will Cuylle definitely has the potential to become the next big star for the New York Rangers.
