The New York Rangers still need to plug holes in the lineup thanks to a multitude of trades this season. The team could use both help on the blueline and in the top-six. Some notable names available are Ryker Evans, Marco Rossi and Mason McTavish.

The New York Rangers have holes in the lineup that need to be plugged. Of course, the top six isn't set yet, and the left side of the defense looks thin.
GM Chris Drury will have to dig deep into his prospect pool and draft picks to consider other options this late in the season. That will once again come from trades, in order to acquire RFAs who remain unsigned at this point in the season.
The team doesn't have enough cap space to send an offer sheet to the talent we're about to list. So, a trade will have to happen.

Three RFAs Who GM Chris Drury Could Trade for

The New York Rangers desperately need help on the left side of the defense. In order to shore up the blueline, they could look to Seattle to acquire RFA Ryker Evans, who hasn't signed with the team, which in its infancy is undergoing a rebuild.

Ryker Evans

Ryker Evans was the 35th overall pick in the 2021 Draft by the Seattle Kraken and has found himself earning power-play time with the Kraken. He's scored 30 points (5-25) in 73 games with the Kraken and has the potential to be a top-four defenseman in the league. Not only does he have offensive upside, but he has some physicality to his game as well.

Marco Rossi

Marco Rossi is a surprising addition to the list. Rossi was selected 9th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft and has found a home in the Minnesota Wild's top-six. But all is not well in the state of hockey, as the RFA has yet to sign a new deal with Bill Guerin.
The two are apart on both term and money, according to NHL Insider Anthony DiMarco:
As for Marco Rossi, it is no secret that Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin has been open to trading the 2020 first-round pick. Rossi's camp had been rumored to be looking for a long-term deal in the $49 million range at seven years; it doesn't seem like the Wild feels comfortable with that at this juncture. A bridge deal similar to Cole Perfetti's with the Winnipeg Jets could be a decent comparable for what we can see with Rossi when the dust settles.

In 82 games with the Wild, he scored 60 points as a key forward in the top-six. If Chris Drury could make the salary work, this could be a huge steal for the Rangers GM and put them into win-now territory in addition to getting younger all-around.
