The New York Rangers have their hands full during the offseason as they figure out what to do with the players that will become unrestricted free agents.

The 29-year old two-way forward, Alex Wennberg was acquired from the Seattle Kraken at the NHL Trade Deadline this past season for a 2024 second-round pick and conditional pick in 2025. In only 35 games with the Rangers including playoffs he only managed 2 goals, 5 assists and seven points.
The Rangers got Jack Roslovic at the Trade Deadline from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a conditional pick in 2026. The 27-year old has tallied 16 points, 5 being goals and 11 assists in just 25 games with the Rangers.
32-year old defenseman Erik Gustafsson signed with the Rangers last summer to a one-year, $825,000 contract and played a crucial role throughout the entire season with the Rangers. He played 76 regular season games for the Rangers where he had six goals, 25 assists and 31 points.
The Rangers signed Wheeler to a one-year $800,000 contract this past offseason.
At 37-years-old, suffered a leg injury in February, which kept him out for a long the remaining of the season. However, Wheeler was still made an impact for New York through the first half of the season, tallying nine goals, 12 assists and 21 points in 54 games.
Chad Ruhwedel was acquired at the Trade Deadline from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick. The 34-year-old defenseman played in just five games for the Rangers, failing to record a point.�
