New York Rangers 2023 Draft pick makes big decision regarding his future in the NHL and it's shocking as many were wondering what Drew Fortescue would be doing heading into development camp.
Fortescue is one of the New York Rangers most promising defensive prospects and has shown a lot of potential through his two years while at Boston College.
However, Fortescue decided that not to make the jump to professional hockey, where he would most likely play for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, and will return to Boston College for his junior year.
According to reports the 20-year-old feels that playing another season with Boston Collage will be best for his development moving forward.
«I talked to the front office a little bit and kind of just think that's best for my development going forward,» Fortescue said about his decision to return to Boston College. «Right now I'm just focused on getting bigger and stronger. My plan is to continue to work on that and be ready for the following year.»
Drew Fortescue was drafted in the third round, 90th overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

One NHL executive has even compared him to New York Rangers former defenseman Ryan Lindgren.
This past season playing at Boston College with fellow Rangers prospect Gabe Perreault, Fortescue recorded 11 points in 36 games.
