The New York Rangers have a lot of star power up front in the top six, but still can't capitalize on it and have failed to win a Stanley Cup. So, why not make a change in the top six?
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has hit the market hard, with multiple teams reportedly interested in him.
Marner is 27 years old and had 85 points in 69 games this year. He also shows up in the playoffs, having 50 points in 57 games.
But how would the Rangers get him? Well, you'd trade Artemi Panarin.
Panarin is 32 years old and tallied a whopping 120 points in a fully-played 82 game season.
You can make the assumption that Marner would've had around the same amount of points if not more if he had played all 82 games. With the trade, you get younger as well.
With both teams needing a shake-up in their main core, this could really benefit both sides.
