New York Rangers forward Juuso Parssinen displays his true colors towards the organization while issues an unexpected statement after signing a two-year contract extension.
Just moments before Jusso Parssinen went to Stockholm Sweden to represent Team Finland at the IIHF Men's World Championship, the New York Rangers reached an agreement with Jusso Parssinen on a two-year contract extension.
Throughout the 2024-25 season the Rangers traded for Pärssinen from the Colorado Avalanche at just moments before the NHL Trade Deadline in a deal that sent Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey the other way.
The 24-year old. forward had quite the difficult season as he was dealt in two trades throughout the 2024-25 season, first from the Nashville Predators to the Avalanche and then from the Avalanche to the New York Rangers.
Jusso Parssinen opens up on signing his two-year contract extension with the Rangers
According to Remy Mastey of The Hockey News, it was important for the 24-year old to find some much-needed stability with his new contract, and it was important to get it done quickly as possible so that he could take his mind off it and focus on the offseason.
«It feels good,» Pärssinen said about signing his contract extension. «I'm really happy about staying there, especially for two years. Coming to the tournament, in a way it's relief to get it done before, not so much to think about. It's huge to get it done. Really, really happy and excited.»
It's safe to say that Parssinen feels at home with the Rangers organization as he has nothing but good things to say about their facility's. It's also worth noted that the GM Chris Drury and the Rangers were interested in Parssinen for months as he showed great potential upon his arrival to the NHL.
«I think us players, they take good care of us,» Pärssinen emphasized. «They have a great practice facility, everything food-wise, it's really nice here. New York is a special place. It's a special place for me to play, that's at least how I feel.»
This past season Parssinen managed to tally two goals, three assists for a total of five points throughout only 11 games played with the Rangers, while averaging 9:46 minutes.
