NHL Insider Mollie Walker interviews Captain J.T. Miller on the recent performance of the Rangers. The 29th Captain would call out the rest of his team and would praise Taylor Raddysh afterward.
He's had a spectacular start to the season, playing 12 games for the Rangers, and has scored 5 points (5 goals).
That ability to be an offensive force didn't quite come out of nowhere. Raddysh did score 20 goals with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022-23. But he's also the same guy who dropped to five goals with them the next season, and scored seven in 80 games in a bottom-six role with the Washington Capitals last season.
His production has been a complete surprise, but if you know his history with other teams in the NHL, he's shown
he's a capable goal scorer (20 ) in 2022-23 with the rebuilding Chicago Blackhawks. He'd score 37 points that season, but wouldn't eclipse that total again.
His performance has drawn the attention of JT Miller, who has complimented his teammate's game:
The New York Rangers $1.5 million surprise
Raddysh has been a surprise for the Rangers, who have scored five goals. As a 58th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, he's found some normalcy in the Washington Capitals lineup, but has been auditioning for a full-time home in the league since he exited the Tampa Bay Lightning organization.
He has played 317 games in the league, scoring 105 points (48-57).
