J.T. Miller Being Flamed By New York Rangers Fans Following Horrendous Efforts During 6-5 Overtime Loss

New York Rangers captain J.T. Miller is facing an immense amount of backlash on social media following his efforts during overtime on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks.
On Thursday night the New York Rangers faced off against the San Jose Sharks, where they were hoping to secure their first victory at Madison Square Garden this season, unfortunately that wasn't the case as they took a brutal 6-5 loss in overtime.
Something that many fans are now voicing their opinion on, and blaming captain J.T. Miller for his lack of effort that lead to the Sharks scoring the final goal of the game.
J.T. Miller Facing Harsh Backlash From Fans Following Overtime Loss On Thursday Night
Since the beginning of the New York Rangers 2025-26 season, captain J.T. Miller has preached that the team is building a new a new identity and tone for how they want to play throughout the season.
Even after the game J.T. Miller made a comment of «Not the identity we want to build here," which is a bit surprising considering he was on the ice at the time of the game winning goal.

However, hockey is a team sport, so it's hard to just put the blame on one player after a they make a questionable play. Hopefully they can turn things around before their next game on Sunday against the Calgary Flames.
