New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan speaks out on top prospect Noah Laba, as he made his NHL debut during opening-night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After working hard throughout Training Camp and the preseason, Rangers top prospect Noah Laba had officially made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Unfortunately, things didn't go the way the Rangers expected as they took a brutal 3-0 loss during their opening-game.
However, despite the loss head coach Mike Sullivan was overall pleased with Laba's performance.
"For his first NHL game, I thought he played very well for us"

Mike Sullivan talks about what Noah Laba brought to the Rangers tonight:
While stating that the 22-year old forward did well, there were a few thing Sullivan would like to see him improve on during his time in the National Hockey League.

Following the game, Mike Sullivan also gave an honest assessment on the Rangers performance and it's safe to say that they have a ton of room for improvement moving forward.
Sullivan's assessment: "We've got a long way to go to become the team we want to become. I thought we had moments in the game where we were playing the game that we envision, that we can play more consistently, but it's not nearly consistently enough... I thought the first period, for whatever reason, we had hesitation in our game. Some of it, I think, we can iron out. But certainly we've got a ways to go."
Sullivan certainly isn't wrong, but it's important to note that the Rangers best goal scorer Artemi Panarin and captain J.T. Miller were both still "rusty" as they were returning from injuries and weren't able to get many reps in before the game.
So hopefully for the Rangers next game on Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres, they are able to readjust and perform to a better standard.
