Former New York Rangers goaltender Brandon Halverson's career reaches an all time low, just after he signed a new contract extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have recently announced that they have signed 28-year-old goaltender Brandon Halverson to a contract, and just three days later they made a significant decision regarding his future.
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on February 3rd that they signed Halverson to a two-year contract taking him through the 2025-26 season. As Halverson has been made a name for himself in the American Hockey League.

However, today, Halverson was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment back to Syracuse, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
However, on Thursday afternoon the Lightning placed Halverson on waivers for the purpose of reassignment back to the Syracuse Crunch, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Just on Tuesday Halverson backed up
Andrei Vasilevskiy against the Ottawa Senators and will do so again tonight, but by clearing waivers it will allow the Lightning to assign him to the minors by tomorrow or over the upcoming 4-Nations Face-Off break.
Halverson had been the top goaltender playing on an AHL contract this season and arguably one of the top players.
After joining the AHL's Syracuse Crunch for the playoff stretch, his performance improved quite a bit, achieving a record of 7-3-3 in just 14 games, with a .913 save percentage and a stellar 2.18 goals-against average. Truly making a name for himself.
