Elliotte Friedman reveals just how serious the New York Rangers are about acquiring Mike Sullivan

Now that two-time Stanley Cup winning head coach has parted ways with the Pittsburgh Penguinsorganisation, he has quickly jumped to the head of priority list for the New York Rangers.
Earlier on Monday morning, Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins decided it was time to move on from head coach Mike Sullivan, who has been with the team for a decade:

He will forever be an enormous part of Penguins history, not only for the impressive back-to-back Cups, his impact on the core of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Bryan Rust, but more importantly, for his love and loyalty to the organization.»

Mike Sullivan becomes the New York Rangers number one priority
Several reports surfaced indicating that the Rangers would likely try to get Sullivan signed before the end of this week or according to Frank Seravalli, within just a few days of the announcement:
«I've gotten messages from NHL general managers already this morning saying 'Does Mike Sullivan end up in New York today or tomorrow?' I think it is one of those things that could be locked up within the next 42 to 78 hours,»
Along with that, Insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the New York Rangers desperately want Sullivan and that he can't imagine the Rangers organization letting any other organization to outdo them:
«I cannot imagine [the New York Rangers] allowing anyone to outdo themselves in the pursuit of Sullivan,»
