Completed look at the New York Rangers aftermath of the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline

The New York Rangers didn't shy away from making trades for UFAs at the trade deadline this season. Here's a look at GM Chris Drury's moves.
However, Drury wasn't finished making moves as he was sure to find ways to improve the lineup through trades.
He tapped into GM Patrik Allvin of the Canucks again to secure defenseman
Carson Soucy.
Carson Soucy was traded to the New York Rangers by the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday for a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft (previously owned by the San Jose Sharks).
Soucy will provide some muscle lacking on the blue line after the team traded Ryan Lindgren to the Avalanche.
GM Chris Drury would flip that 3rd-round pick from the San Jose Sharks, and forward Reilly Smith who underperformed in New York for prospect
Brendan Brisson.
Smith would get a return ticket home to Vegas, where he could find his game again which was missing in Pittsburgh and New York.
Jimmy Vesey & Ryan Lindgren
Drury added some needed depth in the lineup after it appeared that Vesey and Lindgren no longer fit the team's long-term plans.
Drury traded Vesey, and Lindgren for Calvin DeHaan, and
Juuso Parssinen. Parssinen could turn out to be a very good depth addition, but for either team, it's too early to tell what the results of the trade will be.
Lindgren and Vesey are gearing up for the playoffs.
Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini
Chytil has found a fresh start in Vancouver and in the last ten games provided 5 points (1 G, 4 A), while Mancini plays in Abbotsford.
Miller has turned the Rangers around in the meantime, and given them new life. He's on pace for 97 points and has given
Mika Zibanejad a shot in the arm production-wise as well.
The trade could turn out very well for both teams, should Chytil go without a major injury or concussion in the future.
The Rangers traded Kaapo Kakko early in the season for Will Borgen and a 3rd & 6th-round pick.
Borgen has outperformed his time in Seattle, scoring a point every four games with the Rangers, compared to every seventeen with the Kraken.
Kakko has found a way to provide a top-six scoring presence in Seattle and in the last ten games scored 7 points with the Kraken. Both teams seem to have won the trade here, especially as Drury was able to ship out Lindgren as a result of Borgen's play.
The Rangers began the year trading Captain Jacob Trouba, and while he blocked a trade during the offseason, he wasn't able to this time around due to the threat of being waived.
Trouba had declined in play and production on the ice but has found a home on Anaheim's 2nd-pairing.
The Rangers added depth defenseman
Urho Vaakanainen, and a fourth-round pick in the meantime while recouping salary.
Addition by subtraction by GM Chris Drury.
