An Official Timeline To When The New York Rangers Will Name Their Next Captain Has Been Revealed
As the 2025-26 NHL season approaches the New York Rangers are one of two teams who still remain without a captain, but thanks to latest reports we now know when the organization is expected to name their next captain.
Who Will The New York Rangers Name As Their Next Captain?
As stated before, there has been talks about J.T. Miller, Adam Fox, and Vincent Trocheck being the frontrunners to be named as the next captain.
However it seems like many would like J.T. Miller to be named as the next captain due to his mindset on the ice and how much of an impact he has made to become a leader on and off the ice.
The 32-year old forward would end the year with 70 points (22-48) in 71 games split between the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks.
With that being said, we could inevitably see Miller score 100 points in the NHL once again, but it depends on some variables, including linemates.
We should expect him to shoulder the same workload, playing 18:31 TOI per night under Mike Sullivan, in addition to a power-play assignment on the first unit.
