Former New York Rangers forward has just provided an encouraging update regarding his health ahead of the 2025-26 season during a recent podcast appearance.

Throughout the 2024-25 season, the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks combined for a blockbuster trade that involved Chris Drury trading away Filip Chytil, prospect Victor Mancini, and a first round pick, in return for star forward J.T. Miller.
However, things didn't go to plan for Filip Chytil as after only playing 15 games for the Canucks organization, he suffered a concussion during a game with the Chicago Blackhawks in March. But now he has a pretty encouraging update ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Former New York Rangers Forward Filip Chytil Opens Up On His Health

During a recent episode of the 100% Canucks Podcast, Filip Chytil made an Landon Ferraro and John Shannon where he opened up on his recovery from the concussion suffered back in March and where he's at right now.
Chytil admitted that he feels a lot better now and that after he arrived back to his home nation of Czechia, he began to skate and work out in preparation for the upcoming season.
"Great. I feel great. I said it at the end of the season that I feel I was ready to go offseason. I was very happy that I finished the season with the guys on the ice for a couple of practices." Chytil said.

"Two weeks after I came [back to the Czech Republic] I started to work out and skate. Now it's almost four months already where I'm working out and skating. Knock on wood, I feel very good and feel very positive."

The 25-year old forward, then also revealed that he has been working hard this summer to improve his shooting skills, especially his one-timers, as we all know how much he enjoys scoring.
"I love to score goals and I know I can score a lot more than I'm scoring now, or even what my best season was. So we're working with my skill coach around the net a lot. Working on my shot. Working on one-timers. This is the thing that I'm working on the most. Of course we're working on my edges - doing puck-handling. The thing I love the most is just shooting. I know there is so much room what to work on and so much room how to get better. Even the top players work on their shot all the time. I love to score goals and I need to score more." Chytil said.

The New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks will face off for the first time during the 2025-26 season on December 16th, so lets hope Chytil can stay healthy enough to make his return to Madison Square Garden.
