The Detroit Red Wings had a miracle run in the last couple weeks of last season, only to come up just short of the playoffs.
It's a real shame Detroit didn't make it. The team has higher hopes for this year, though, but a minor setback has happened this offseason.
It was announced by Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman that their Captain, Dylan Larkin, underwent upper body surgery and is left unable to skate.
Yzerman stated that the surgery is the reason why he couldn't compete at the world championships. Yzerman also said that Larkin is participating in off-ice activities, he just can't do anything on-ice.
We hope that Dylan makes a full recovery.
