Transaction: recent report confirms Jake Guentzel and the New York Ranger
It seems likely that GM Eric Tulsky and the Carolina Hurricanes will find Jake Guentzel a new home this summer.
The team is currently shopping his rights, and the 70+ point winger will generate a lot of interest during the off-season.
As Jake Guentzel enters the trade market, GM Chris Drury and the New York Rangers have an excellent chance at securing a game-breaking, top-six winger.
The team currently has $40.7 Million in salary cap space according to CapFriendly and could make an offer for the 30-goal scorer.
The could also make an offer for Guentzel who could be had for a 1st round pick, which the team does own for the 2024 NHL Entry draft.
«It sounds like he's available for a mid-round pick. I believe Carolina's let everybody know that, if you want to trade for his rights, for the chance to sign him, that it's possible for a mid-round pick.
«I'm sure there's a ton of interest. I mean, you've just got to know, do you think you're going to get him?»
According to Elliotte Friedman of the 32 TP that will be the rate for Guentzel's signing rights.
Will the Rangers be able to afford Guentzel if tests free-agency? He may cost more come July 1st.
in 2023-2024 Jake Guentzel, scored 77 points( 30 G, 47 A) in 77 games split between the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins.
