Some very concerning news hit the hockey community on Monday night, as New York Rangers Metropolitan Division rivals confirm a fan is in critical condition after falling from the upper level.
On Monday night the Pittsburgh Penguins organization confirmed that a fan is left in critical condition after falling from the upper level of PPG Paints Arena during their game against the St. Louis Blues.
Following the game the Penguins confirmed that a male fan somehow managed to fall from the upper levels of the arena into the lower bowl concourse and is in critical condition after being rushed to a local hospital.
"The Pittsburgh Penguins can confirm that an adult male fell from the upper concourse to the lower bowl at PPG Paints Arena earlier this evening. The individual was immediately attended to by Pittsburgh EMS as well as PPG Paints Arena personnel and has since been transported to a local hospital.
Although there is no further information at this time, the Penguins and OVG Management Group are closely monitoring the situation. Our concerns remain with the individual and his family at this time."
It doesn't feel right to be talking about points when you hear something like that. Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with that person and their family and hopefully they're okay.
Certainly a very scary situation, and on behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider we'd like to send our thoughts and prayers to the fan, in hopes of a speedy recovery.
