After ending their 2023-2034 season the San Jose Sharks announced that they had fired their head coach. With the season the Sharks have had the news is not a surprise, it does however seem to be a trending theme as the Seattle Kraken announced today that they have also fired their head coach. The kraken had a great season despite this decision and it leads to the question, should other teams that didn't have such a great season or make it to the playoffs consider firing their head coach as well?
Nevertheless, the decision made by the Seattle kraken to release their head coach comes after the team took a noteworthy set back this season after having made it to the Stanley cup playoffs last year with the same Coach. During the press release, the Seattle Kraken's general manager thanked Dave Hakstol and stated that the decision to let him go was difficult but that it had to be made for the greater good and growth of the team. The general manager also stated that the assistant coach would also not be returning.
The Seattle kraken look to embark on a different path for the following season, a path that they hope will take them to the Stanley cup playoffs and lead them to Victory as they fight for their first Stanley Cup in the 2024-2025 season. With Seattle's fan base continuing to grow it is sure to be another amazing season as the Kraken start with a new coach.
The questions remaining now are who will the assistant and head coaches be? The Kraken will once again have to cast a wide net and select the candidates most worthy to lead them to achieve their fullest potential.
