Wilson Called An Idiot For Dirty Play Yesterday, And Rightfully So
The Rangers became the first team to punch their ticket to round 2 with a sweep of the Washington Capitals.
But in the 4-2 win last night, Tom Wilson aimed to cause trouble. He went right after Adam Fox after a Vincent Trocheck power play goal in the end of the first period. Fox was only heading to his team to celebrate the goal. Wilson thankfully got a roughing penalty immediately after.
Steve Valiquette during the first intermission called out Wilson for his stupidity:
You have to admire Valiquette for his honesty and open to call out the opposing team player. The Rangers are awaiting the winner of the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders series.
